People pay taxes as they buy the finished products. I’ve always wondered why we couldn’t go to that type of system.A retail sales tax. Most states and many municipalities have one, don't they? (Not Alaska, fortunately)
Easy to collect. Easy to manage. Difficult to avoid. Rich pay more because they spend more.

Easy to collect. Easy to manage. Difficult to avoid. Rich pay more because they spend more. Zactly. If you win or inherit $10,000,000 you pay no tax. If you die and leave it to your kid, still no tax. Only when it's spent is it taxed. No need for a progressive tax.

FYI:
Oregon, Montana and Delaware also do not have sales taxes.
West Yellowstone and Big Sky, MT have local sales taxes (or ‘resort’ taxes) which are very low.
