...that is to say, operating systems that Microsoft, aligned with the CIA and FBI, can force you to update whenever they feel like it, so that their SOVEREIGN spyware and malware can surveil your sorry butt and keep you in line. And, if necessary, plant “evidence” of “crimes” on your computer so they have a reason to pick you up and take you downtown.
Five years ago you’d have called me a conspiracy theorist for saying that. Heck, five years ago *I* would have called me a conspiracy theorist.
Not any more.
That’s why I keep a win11 net top for doing taxes. And it’s disconnected from everything when not doing that.
Beyond that, If I can’t use it on my win7 box or my Steam deck(Linux), I don’t need it.
Remember way back when updates/upgrades were about improving computer performance and fixing real problems? Now they are just about improving surveillance of users by the state and big business. Helluva disappointment to those of us who believed in the "computer revolution."
