Seems to me the CDC should highlighting such a comparison. That's what real scientists would do.

Real scientists would attempt to disprove the hypothesis by considering and eliminating all other explanations.
Since covid itself is known to cause serious coronary problems, an honest scientific study requires at least four control groups:
covid and vax
covid and no vax
vax and no covid
no vax and no covid
