Rogers is fighting for his own power. I believe he stands to get a committee chairmanship. He needs to be removed.

I'd like Gaetz a lot more if there was some purpose behind his antics. What's the purpose here? He doesn't have an alternative candidate for Speaker who can get the votes. He's gotten every concession he's going to get. So what is Gaetz going for at this point besides the attention?

Gaetz is just sticking by what his constituents want. I’m not one of his constituents but I wrote to my congressperson in FL and told him I do not want him to vote for Kevin McCarthy. He did it anyway. At least some of these people vote with their constituents a lot, which is very few and far between.
