A real father would be working hard to get Nicky Cruz out on bail, and would be totally unconcerned when little Nicky "skipped bail" and was never able to be found again.
That father would occasionally review the home movie (muted, of course) that he kept in a wall safe, and would emerge smiling after the viewing, secure in the knowledge that losing the bail surety was well worth it.
