Since God is love and His people are commanded to love one another and their neighbor, it becomes very important who defines love. The world wants you to believe that love is a feeling that you have, that love requires unconditional acceptance of another person's claims about reality regardless of the truth of such claims. Basically they say, if you love me you will talk to my imaginary friends as if they are really there despite the fact that they clearly don't exist.
Love is not a feeling. Love is a decision. It is a decision to pursue what is best for the other person regardless of your own desires or comfort. That is why love does not rejoice in iniquity but rejoices in the truth. True love is sacrificial.
Love is not affectionate feeling, but a steady wish for the loved person’s ultimate good as far as it can be obtained.
