I don’t remember who here was having trouble with taste and smell after possible covid infections, but I have a friend who had trouble and has reported success in fixing it using nicotine gum/patches.

I’ve read the same thing and heard of cases resolved similarly. Perhaps one of the medical experts can comment on this. I’ve read that nicotine induces apoptosis (cell death), which gets rid of accumulating cells full of spike proteins that just won’t die as they should. Maybe the loss of smell and taste is because of too many cells gumming up the works, or maybe just too many spike proteins? Allow the plethora of cells to die off and smell and taste return.
