Taking a blow to the chest at precisely the wrong time can stop ones heart. It has happened a number of times in baseball, yet the game goes on. I haven’t seen any reports of Hamlin having a heart attack. They’ve all referenced a cardiac arrest. Maybe you’ve read something I haven’t, though. There are a lot of articles out there.

Some 55+ years ago I took a direct hit in the chest from a baseball from about 10 feet off the bat by an older teenager. I was down for the count. The group got me on my feet and bicycled me back home. Still here. The questions on this “accident” likely will be focused on equipment failure and undetected health issues. Just suggesting..
