I have my radio set to channel 31. It’s almost all I listen to. Occasionally I change to something else, but not often. I saw TP when he came through Indy in 2017. Amazingly, I had never been to one of his shows before. Not that I went to many concerts. I could never afford the tickets. But that year we sprang for them as an anniversary gift to each other. It was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen, though like I said, I had only been to a select few in my life.
I doubt I would recognize the Orlando of my childhood, but then everything has grown and changed. They tell us it’s progress. I’m not so sure about that.
Going about Orlando, nostalgia sometimes puts me in a frame of mind that I can recall something from years ago about most places. And, yes, Orlando's growth is progress because it has gone from a small if pleasant city of limited opportunities to a major metropolitan area abundant with services, amenities, and opportunity.
Orlando is becoming something like a cross between LA and Las Vegas. My guess is that casino gambling is eventually coming to the area as well.
I listened to channel 31 over the Thanksgiving weekend to the new “Live at the Fillmore” box set, which I promptly bought. Tom, his band and his guests all sound so great.
