I think I have one everyone missed, cheap late ‘60s early ‘70s classic muscle cars that are now expensive collectors items.
I never saw any streakers. But two girls and a guy streaked through a Pizza Hut I was working in. I had my back to them and missed it.
Dead Skunk. I sing that often.
I loved the absolute silliness of that. Just stupid silly!
Made me grin...:)
Yes, and I swear they play it at every sporting event, especially when the home team is losing. It’s so awful.
I do not. We had a southern band that was semi-big named “White Witch.”
Kim Simmons was a VERY solid blues guitarist. This was Steppenwolf’s “reunion” tour after they have been big a few years earlier. We, being advanced rockers steeped in Hendrix and Cream, looked down our noses at them. But they were absolute pros, perfect sound, tight. We walked away with a whole new respect for both bands.
Great music & movies, but unfortunately we lost our moral compass then. Especially the early half of the decade.
I saw a streaker in 1996 run through the Bordeaux train station in France. He was quick and by the time you could react he was gone with the wind so to speak.
Don’t Look Ethyl!!!!
My mama loved Jean Nate! Too bad for you she’s no longer with us! She would definitely ask!
I got to see Santana this summer. It was after Carlos had his collapse. He said it was food poisoning, but I’m not sure about that. His wife was un-effing-believable on the drums!
I hate Journey with Steve Perry. I’m sure he’s a nice guy, but I have trauma because of them. So they haunt me wherever I go now.
No way I will listen. Traumatized by them from their 80s stuff.
If I ever have to go to hell, I’m sure Journey will be playing as soon as I arrive. I pray often that I won’t be subjected to an eternity of them. If this life is Purgatory, then I should have paid my Penance by the time I pass.
Every time I hear them, it’s hell for me. Not kidding.
When the penguin was Waddles, not Topper.
Will have to look this up. Have a son in the music business, at this least before CoVid shut down his revenue stream. They still play some, but don’t travel anymore. Life dished out a different scene. Everybody has wives/ steady girlfriends now. C’est la vie.
Just catching back up to the whole thread. I was in Christmas winter storm survival preparation mode for a lot of the day. Your stories of German TV are interesting!
Oh, my family, should they not be too delayed, will be well fed now.
Nice list! Did you hate Queen? I still think they were noteworthy.
Legionnaires was named because of the 1976 American Legion convention in Philly, where there were so many who fell ill. I will agree that it may have been looked into before that. You are probably privy to info I’m not aware of, so I will defer to you. I was just coming of age then, and I remember hearing about Legionnaires at that time.
Ok so I was in grade school in the early 70’s and HS mid to late -70’s. One of my teachers taught me in 5th grade, and then later taught at my HS. He taught history both times. I don’t remember which branch of the military he served in, but he served in the Philippines. His wife was Filipino. Nicest guy. He was not a revolutionary in any way, at least, not that I could discern. He was very by the book, and pretty conservative. I mention only because he didn’t fit the bill as described.
Ah, she was an original doubter!
Ha, I listened to Dr. Demento every Sunday.
Remember “Junk Food Junkie”?
You had one? And you admit it?
That’s crazy talk, man! Don’t give away your deepest darkest secrets!
