As it is, the Democrat Party has figured out how to win enough elections to control the government, and they are governing in a way that preserves their power and offers some benefits to a variety of groups that make up their coalition.
In my opinion, the nation will not recover, there will be an assortment of states that maintain a certain level of sanity, and attract thoughtful and conscientious people.
You are exactly right. They have put everything in place that insures they will maintain power and control.
