I agree wholeheartedly that EV's are heavier than their ICE counterparts, largely from the battery.
However, I'm having trouble believing today's EV's are heavier than cars from the 1970's (as the article states the standard for car weights were when the parking decks were designed).

CNN...The Ford F-150 Lightning will weigh about 1,600 pounds more than a similar gas-powered F-150 truck.
0.8 tons more for a small truck is quite a difference....Then there's the higher particulates from increased tire wear, as well, not to mention the cost for sTurdier tires or more frequent replacement.
