RFK Jr needs to learn this is not a democracy.
It may not be a republic anymore either.
Well he’s a Democrat.
They never can or will get it right.
The United States government comprising representation constitutes a Republic which means it governs and responds by preserving the rights of individual citizens as opposed to acceding to tyrants or mobs.
Elections however, are formed as Democratic processes, but carefully so. This original careful formation suffered enormous expansion of harmful Democratic effects through enactment of the 17th Amendment. Democratic processes are harmful when they are deleterious to the rights of individuals and the representation of individuals. History of early Greek states showed that Democracies worked when confined to small regions and populations, but failed when expanded over wide regions as mobs and tyrannical cartels emerged to take control.
Without the Progressive Era's 17th Amendment, areas cast far and wide from urban zones, with representation in their state legislature, would have a voice in choosing their US Senators. For example, the bulk of PA's land mass is "blood red" in American tradition and values (conservative), except for its urban zone of Philadelphia which is notorious for "finding" ballots to select and install Pennsylvania's US Senators. The same ballot rigging apparatus in Philadelphia has been unable to rig for example, a state representative election say in State District 59 and hundreds of others. PA State House in 2020 comprised 113 Republican districts out of 203 (56%) despite widespread fraud (machines, mail-ins, etc.). The recent midterms however, with continued mail-in vote tampering, were a setback for the PA Republican legislature.
Given PA Republican legislative numbers in 2020 of 56%, 2016 of 60%, and more than a decade of control of the PA state legislature by Republicans, it's safe to say that PA's current two US Senators would be Republicans*, if not for the 17th Amendment, yet they are now both Democrats*.
If future history brings down the 17th, we could see up to 18 states X 2 = 36 additional MAGA Senators added to the current 50 GOP Senators for a total of 86 possible GOP US Senators, more than enough to remove Biden and many others in government and the judiciary, and to spur major reforms in state election standards (e.g. no mail-in voting, etc.) and prosecuting all involved in election fraud and pandemic genocide.
Former US Senator from PA Rick Santorum is leading such an effort to amend the Constitution. Amending the US Constitution to repeal the 17th would go a great distance to strengthening federal governance towards traditional values. When the 17th was proposed, it was sold as an anti-corruption measure to circumvent state legislators that were selling their votes. There were not many of these legislators, but the campaign to pass the 17th was scaled up for apparent other purposes. Using today's technology, reforms could include measures to prevent such legislative corruption as selling votes for choosing US Senators.
As for RFK Jr. he has a lot of the JFK and RFK common sense and appeal for traditional working class Americans. He just has it, although he is slightly misguided on some issues. Needless to say, to be recognized within his party, he has had to modify his views and language to avoid recrimination and being outcast. He's already in hot water with his truth exposé of Fauci ("The Real Anthony Fauci"). We can tell he values the truth in many cases, and in those cases where he is truth-challenged, it's not his intent, rather it is from whoever is briefing him.
RFK Jr's misplaced reference to the United States as a "Democracy" is likely related to his entire family history and their place in history as Democratic Party members. It's important to realize that JFK and RFK would be seen as patriots and conservatives today. For RFK Jr. to say "a Coup d-Etat From Which Our Republic Has Never Recovered", although more accurate, would cause recriminations from within his Party and further outcast him. He should say instead "a Coup d-Etat From Which Our Country Has Never Recovered", this would be neutral and true. He's likely in the habit of the former; I would advise him to use more neutral wording.
That said, I see RFK Jr. to be an American whose common sense and decent values should be praised and promoted. He's a good guy, not ready for higher office because his Party is so sick, but as a person, I would welcome him.
His as well as about 90% of idiots since his presidency can call it democracy or republic.
JFK’s sex romps, corruption and cronyism isn’t good for either.
Lots of people liked him, even people here saying he was “the last proper democrat” but I for one - who was not alive during his insult to the flag - will not be swayed.
He was a leftist scumbag. didn’t deserve the office, did few good things for the people between his self-serving and frat-boy party lifestyle.
The president is OUR employee. Not a celebrity, not an iconoclast and not an idol.
I’m saying the same thing for the way people go kookoo for Trump.
