1979 was a long time ago. How would you like to see US grievances from 1979 addressed in 2022?
“Thousands of victims of terrorism” would disagree. Well, fine. They have governments of their own to address their grievances. As far as any Iranian attacks against the United States (if there have been any), what, besides assassinating Soleimani, would you like to be done?
Our major terrorist attackers are Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, and we don’t seem to have adopted a particularly aggressive attitude towards them. What’s different about Iran?

I’m most concerned about American victims - including/especially service members. But do agree that victims of other nationalities can and should deal with iran themselves.
We should be sinking iranian vessels that harass ours for one. And plenty of infrastructure ripe for the picking.
