As of this writing, Donald J Trump is the ONLY announced candidate for President in 2024.
That may be, but perhaps he is beginning to back out. I can’t imagine him thinking that this is going to pump up the base. Maybe the coffers.
And if he’s doing what I think he’s doing, two things are plain...
A) He’s a freaking genius.
B) If he has to resort to this, we are in far deeper doo doo that we imagined.
That's true, but his announcement was incredibly early by historical standards. I can't think of another major candidate who announced that early anytime in recent history. Trump himself only announced in June of 2015 the first time he ran.
Point is, you wouldn't expect anybody else to have announced this early even if they fully intend to run.
