Frauds play with words to trick their audience into false conclusions. Brinton’s statement literally reveals that the “therapist” is imaginary. Mr. Therapist can’t be named because he isn’t a real person; the whole story is bullshit Brinton has dreamed up.

Too dramatic and (especially) too detailed...like they’ve spent time crafting the idea instead of approaching a painful subject and trying to avoid it. “I can picture him”, full stop, might have been more believable.

The story reminds me of the “stolen valor” frauds, who can recount achievements and atrocities in fine detail (along with the self-promotion identified in the article), yet can’t “recall” something as simple as their MOS or serial number.
