just rebuilt an 86 Pro 50LG Yamaha. put it back together and started right up!! Cylinder Bore and new Pistons. Ran smooth as silk!! With the new gasket between the power head and the lower, I coulndt even here it!! then the problems started!!

the new designed oil pump was a mess. over supplied 2 carbs and the third carb, the clear oil line never filled between pump and carb.(gas is pre-mix 50:1 for break in)

this caused the eninge to miss and thunk thunk...stall. upon starting back up, water stopped peeing... took off lower unit and rebuilt the water pump np... start motor back up and pees wonderful. but because of the oil situation i got the thunk thunk... thunk again and then stall again. start back up and no pee.

NO ONE i can find around SE Michigan will work on a motor that old!! even for this seemingly mild problem...

Sometimes that little pee line gets stopped up,is water coming out of the exhaust ports? also some motors have an RPM limiter if engine starts to overheat. On older oil injection outboards, many people just premix the oil and gas in the tank. Also, oil reservoirs have a low sensor that keeps the engine from running if reservoir senses being empty.
