Whether or not it works in 2024 as well as it did in 2016 remains to be seen. But from Trump's perspective, referring to his main primary opponent today as "Desanctimonious" ought to work as well as "Lying Ted" did in 2016.
As far as Trump's posts about ignoring the Constitution, I remind you of the many outlandish things Trump said in 2016 -- and it increased his popularity. Peter Thiel (a Dim strategist) point out and Rush repeated it frequently: Dim and GOPe take Trump's statements literally not seriously. Conservatives take Trump's statements seriously not literally. Trump is still communicating in this manner.
It’s not 2016 anymore. Trump isn’t an outsider. He’s a defeated former president who’s been on an endless losing streak since 2018.
DeSanctimonious? Let’s see Trump on that debate stage standing next to the most popular governor in the country as he’s reminded that while one man was fighting to keep Florida open, the other man handed the country over to Dr. Fauci.
“Dim and GOPe take Trump’s statements literally not seriously. Conservatives take Trump’s statements seriously not literally.”
I forget who first made this well-crafted observation. You are right to repeat it, because it is still true! I think VDH makes the same mistake with regard to Trump and the Constitution.
It almost seems as though everyone is out to get Trump. I think it’s telling.
America has been on a downhill slide for a long, long time. The contest between the crazy socialist party and the moderate socialist party has, ultimately, only one result. I’m ready for Americans to make a choice in 2024. If we can get honest elections, and choose wrongly, we have only ourselves to blame.
