Same weapon used on all four with same method. Only one person can hold the weapon. Without really strong evidence of more than one person being present, it’s a safe bet it was a single perpetrator.

It's highly likely that the 2 young women were awake when the killer came in.
Both Goncalves and Mogen had tried to call Jake Schriger, Mogen's boyfriend, numerous times, about the time they were murdered.
