I cannot imagine Davy Crockett, Indian fighter and white colonialist aggressor having any place in the woke Disney pantheon.

“Indian fighter...”

You said it yourself right there. The American Indians that were in the film were portrayed as savages and should be killed on sight when there was a problem in the area many times caused by the settlers that took over tribal hunting lands and pushed the tribes off their home lands many times trying to force them on to reservations when the tribes had been successfully living on those lands for a couple of thousand years. This changed their lives and cultures completely. So who’s the intruder here? And a lot of the northern lands were for the mining of gold and sport killing of buffalo, not land use.

The settlers did the same thing with the war in Texas as they fought Mexico for Mexican land. The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, that brought an official end to the Mexican-American War (1846-1848), was signed on February 2, 1848, at Guadalupe Hidalgo, a city north of the capital where the Mexican government had fled with the advance of future U.S. forces. By its terms, Mexico ceded 55 percent of its territory, including the present-day states California, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, most of Arizona and Colorado, and parts of Oklahoma, Kansas, and Wyoming. Mexico also relinquished all claims to Texas, and recognized the Rio Grande as the southern boundary with the United States. The death of Davy Crocket was in the film at the Alamo even though it was not shown. And at the time of the war, the US was not going to annex Texas or the other states into the nation. That was decided later. So the area now called Texas was nothing more than a civil war with Mexico so they could be their own country. In other words, insurrection not two countries going to war.
