Democrats, the party of slavery then....and now.
Song of the South is the first movie I remember seeing as a kid (at the drive-in when I was about 5).
When I read the thread’s headline, I couldn’t think of any reason why this ride would be in any way inappropriate. Dumb me. In all my visits to Disneyland, I never once associated it with Song of the South. I just thought they were cute animals. And I bet very few people associate it with Song of the South and that very few people even know anything about the movie.
I stopped going to Disneyland before the wokeness appeared. What drove me away was the long lines. My 8 yr old granddaughter (whose other set of grandparents live in Orlanado) was just talking about waiting in line for 2 hours for some ride. I’m not going to do that.
When I was a kid, when we went to Disneyland we got a book of A, B, C, D, E tickets. E tickets were for the “big” main attraction rides. A tickets were for the smaller rides. We were limited to the # of rides we could go on by the # of tickets. It was kind of fun figuring out which rides we most wanted to go on. Lines weren’t as long. Today you’re limited to the # of rides you can go on by the length of the lines. Waiting an hour or two in line for a 5 minute ride isn’t my idea of fun.
