The original Disney theme park, Disneyland, is in California. They put DisneyWorld in Florida exactly to get away from the premier leftist hell-hole of the United States.
I believe Walt Disney went with Florida for two reasons - one to control the area around the park. California became a flea market of rip off places around the park - and Two - because EPCOT really WAS suppose to be an experimental city of tomorrow.
