Born and bred in Brooklyn, USA.
I’ll go for Grimaldi’s any time - but it’s 300 miles away.

Ditto on the St. Louis pizza! Everytime I visit my daughter we indulge. Domino’s tries real hard with their thin crust pizza, but it’s just not the same.....

Sally's in New Haven will shave 100 miles off your trip.
I never had a chance to go to Grimaldi's or the great NYC pizza joints. I missed my chance when I was engaged to a Brooklyn girl. I am NYC averse even when I am in Connecticut. NY pizza is exceptional when done right.

You missed Lou Malnati’s, maybe the most popular with 76 Chicago area locations.
My time in Chicago was in the '80s, and I was on the southside, so I missed Lou Malnati's, which was not really a thing then. My Chicago go to Pizza is Piece Pizza on the near-north side.
You are, of course, right about the spread of Lou Malnati's. I am NOT partial to deep dish, but there are several Lou Malnati's here in Phoenix, so I will give one a try, and get up to date, even if I'd rather go to Raffaele's or Il Forno.

I will never understand plain cheese pizza people
Cheese pizza people, and plain pizza people (no mozzerella) REALLY appreciate the sauce and/or the cheese and the dough. If I order a plain apizza or cheese pizza, I am COMPLIMENTING the pizza.

It’s gotta have mushrooms, onions, green peppers, black olives, pepperoni and extra cheese or I won’t pay for it.
Why not just get yourself a nice loaded pepperoni sub? You may not really like pizza.

California always makes thing worse.
Pithy, and true. They haven't got anything right since Reagan and "Right Turn on Red".

I’ve had Lou Malnati’s and Giordano’s deep dish. Great stuff! Plus, Lou Malnati’s had the best calamari I’ve ever eaten…

I’ve never had “New York Style”, but I’m sure it’s excellent. All pizza is good, but I frown on “California Style”. It may be made like pizza, but it’s not pizza.

NY pizza isn’t thin crust exactly, but it folds, so you can eat in a decent sized slice in no time at all, kinda like a sammich. It’s great stuff. California tries too hard, IMHO.

My Canadian wife (Canada gave us pineapple pizza . . . argh!), agrees with you. She's likes it, but she says "It's not pizza. It's pizza casserole."

No Dions in Farmington yet but do the Denver and Colorado locations offer green chili toppings?
To: Redcitizen
According to their website green Chile is available in CO Springs. Of course I’d call ahead just in case.
Getting to know the owner I studied their business model. They have a relatively simple menu, a half dozen or so work stations, promote from within (you have to have mastered all work stations to be considered for manager), provide vacation days from the get go, etc. It’s not uncommon to have siblings work there, or in some cases children of former employees. They accept 1 of every 12 applicants.

*** Their pie is pretty good.***
My husband is originally from Long Island, NY, and I’m a southern gal. One of our first dates he asked me if I’d like to go out with him to have some pie. I said sure. Hung up the phone and asked my friends how you dress for a dessert only date? They were as perplexed as I was. Of course, he meant pizza, but I had never heard it called pie before, so had no clue until we pulled up to a pizza joint. We still laugh about the different “dialects” we spoke when we first met. Good thing we didn’t rely solely on linguistics to communicate.

I know it's sad but I'm working on the facsist pizza person/
