“500 mile range if payload is not included.

It could well be down to 50 - 100 miles with a typical Semi payload.

————Wrong - First Sentence-—————

Tesla’s Semi will have a Tesla estimated range of 500 miles on a single charge, and that range can be achieved hauling a max payload of 82,000 lbs of freight (Tesla says federal regulations allow electric trucks to go 2,000 lbs above limit).

Author of article is ignorant. Semi is limited to 80,000 lb GROSS weight. Most semis can carry a max payload 40,000 to 45,000 lb, depending on the model of truck and trailer.

Amazingly stupid idea to convert freight haulers to electric.

The fine print will say “some users will get less mileage, as it varies by weather, hills, wind, temperature and driver”. The stats were on a track at 72 degrees, no wind, with just a light sprinkling of fairy dust.
