“I couldn’t help noticing that women often have unrealistic expectations.”
The stats:

Nothing about kindness, impulse control, listening, keeping promises, coping skills, humor, etc. — the things that REALLY count.
Yes they do really count and it comes from nurturing and upbringing.
I tell everybody that I married my trophy wife at the age of 20 and it was the first marriage for both of us. That was 48 years ago. She was a little high maintenance along the way even though I'm not rich. For example she had to have the full line of Clinique cosmetics like they sell at Nordstrom and Macy's. The odds of making a good match were better back in the day.
My wife was a class behind me but I remembered her face on the playground in elementary school, one of about four cute and popular girls back then. Both of our families had moved away from the community where had been in school but moved back there after we graduated from high school in different cities. She grew up to be breathtakingly beautiful and by the most fortuitous of circumstances we found ourselves together years later on a blind date and the rest was history. That blind date was on May 3rd and we were married on June 28th. It helped that our parents had been acquainted with each other from years before.
