Awww, sweet story!
I love that some breeders and rescues are VERY careful with their animal’s new homes. The one in Connecticut that I sent the kittens to, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have been able to pass their application, LOL
We got my angel, Corduroy, from a breeder in CA that became a friend. She cried when we took Roy home. He was a big beautiful Persian but his eyes turned the wrong color. I never saw anything wrong with them but I was glad to have him since he was no longer show quality. He was the sweetest calmest cat I ever had. And I really didn’t realize he loved me until his last year. He was just so calm about it. I would come into the kitchen or some room and he would be laying on his cushion purring. I thought he did that all the time. But the year before he got sick I went into my husband’s office and Roy was there purring. But hubby told me he didn’t start purring until I showed up. I spent 15 years not realizing his calm sweet purring presence meant I was his special human.
Awwwww...
*sniff*
Forgive yourself, for that!
Look at it this way- if he had NOT loved you, he would not have purred at all!
Tigermaus is not much of a cuddler.
He has never jumped into my lap to be petted, but he does show affection more often, now that I am retired.
When I got home from the pharmacy tonight, he got up and came to me, wrapped his tail around my legs and purred really loud. He then went back to the recliner.
LOL
He likes to sleep at the top of my head, and sometimes will reach out on put his paw(s) on my forehead,
He will also lay alongside me for cuddles and ear scratches
and likes to be scratched under his chin.
Then he will either give a “soft” bite when he has had enough, or he will abruptly get up and leave!
He’s a weird kitty!
He won’t touch “people food”, although he like sharp cheese!
(I only give him little bits of that)
Rusty, was your Maine Coon Cat like that?
