NEW: In latest court filing, Biden admin acknowledges dropping Title 42 will “likely lead to disruption & a temporary increase in unlawful border crossings”, but urges SCOTUS to let T42 drop, arguing it is a now obsolete public health policy, rather than immigration policy.

Biden admin is asking for the stay on ending T42 to be in place until December 27th, so they can have an “orderly transition” out of Title 42 and back to Title 8 processing of migrants at the border.
