Idk, but I also seriously doubt that same Bible was the one he would wag in only one hand, through a smokey night time protest, to walk and defend the St. John Church, near the White House.
I could be wrong. I think he would not dare risk the historic book itself, or risk depriving the heirs, future generations, and even Scotland, of its profound posterity.
PS: I also question the RSV availability. I have no idea when the “new” versions became common, in the time of the aunties, and the little church. Perhaps I missed that part, in the video. There were times in old and devout Ireland and Scotland when elders must surely preferred to have their teeth pulled before giving up the KJV.
(I say that because a century later I am today the same way, even as a Roman Catholic, using the Catholic version only for study, but never giving up the glory of the language in the inimitable KJV... and paranoid that it will be “disappeared”.)
The differences in language is so astonishing, it’s almost heartbreaking.
