You are absolutely correct, and since it happened late in winter the effect is more prominent now. What I am surprised by, is the lack of discussion on the topic. We know that the Krakatoa explosion caused ‘the little ice age’ in 1815, I believe.
I better cut some more firewood.
A read an article at SciTechDaily last week that said the recent Tonga undersea explosion was the most powerful explosion on Earth since Krakatoa in 1883.
