A six inch refractor? That’s nice, better resolution than a reflector. I have a Celestron 9.25” reflector but I need a new mount. Looking for computer guided, just type in the declination and right ascension. Happy viewing.

The closest one, our Sun, is about 93 million miles away - 7 light minutes.
The next closest, Proxima Centauri, its distance from the sun is about 4.25 light-years. Since a LY is nearly 6 TRILLION miles, the distance is around 25 trillion miles away from us.
