I agree with Quentin. Comic book heroes are for 12 year old kids and under.

To the girls out there, if you have a boyfriend with Batman parapherania all over his apartment, run far away. Otherwise, you might end up marrying some overgrown kid who can't cook for himself or make his own bed in the morning.

Don’t worry about her. If she’s the sort that is attracted to a guy who’s most cherished activity is attending yearly ComiCon conventions, then she is most likely a “Mary Sue” and can do everything better than anyone else and doesn’t need him for anything except comparing game card collections.

I know a guy who has action heroes on the shelves of his home office, (along with various full-size virtual arcade games and a Fender Strat). He runs the police I.T. department in a major U.S. city. He's been married for twenty years and they have a lot of kids with whom he shares his geeky ways.

I don’t agree. Comics as a media are virtually dead. They are propped up by thirty somethings and older. They aren’t really written for kids or even young adults. We need stories of heroes and modern myths badly. Many of the films were good in part thanks to the ensemble cast’s chemistry and Robert Downey as Tony Stark but they certainly wandered off into the woke weeds horribly and only accelerated that decline. They killed Star Wars because they didn’t understand Star Wars. Woke was more important than respecting the material. Marvel projects are going the same route. It’s disappointing. They don’t understand parables, morality plays, a life bigger than flesh and blood. It’s all about pettiness, micro aggressions, baser things and ancient grievances.

Where’s the aspirational and inspirational?
