Did you mean MMS? And if so I did not know that came in powder form. Otherwise, what is MSM?
.
They usually package it in caplet form together with glucosamine. This is the stuff they tell you to give to your arthritic dog. A horsey friend of mine turned me onto the powder about 20 years ago after I injured my disc in my lower back. Her explanation was that you could take higher doses in water and that it lubricated the cell walls, enabling them to slip instead of stick to each other. I tried different brands and I always go back to the Jarrow MSM because it has no taste and it makes water taste wetter, for lack of a better explanation. I have tried some brands that have the off-putting sulfur taste of the DMSO.
it comes with a tiny scoop that is about 1/4 teaspoon. Start out with half that, because it can cause a little intestinal reaction if you start right out with a full dose. Then build up to a full scoop to a bottle of water. It makes water taste like you scooped it out of a cool mountain stream.
Mydisc injury was in 2000 and at the time, they told me it would degenerate and get worse over time. Happy to report that 22years later, it only bothers me if I do something stupid. If I listen to my body and stretch before and after workouts and take the MSM, it does not bother me. I take several doses a day in water or lemonade or smoothies.
