They cannot remove the desire for knowing God. It comes from the soul proper, which is not physical.
They claim it’s only from a gene to justify their own hatred for Him.

You are correct - it can’t be done. What is so horrific is that they even WANT to. Their hatred of Our Lord permeates every aspect of their being. Their desire to remove the so-called “God Gene” indicates they know He exists and they hate Him with an unreasonably passionate hatred.
