The “sucking wind” relates back to an old co-worker I had some 20 years ago. He was a field substation operator, and I was one of the dispatchers.
Anyway, at the start of the shift, when he called in, I’d ask how he was doing, and he’d always reply, “Still sucking wind”. Gus have a very dry sense of humor.
