Taylor Caldwell was a woman who apparently wrote several anti communism books in the 1950s.

Other very good books that she's written include "Dear and Glorious Physician" (about St. Luke); "Glory and the Lightning" (about the Greek statesman Pericles and his hetaira Aspasia of Mmiletus); and one that struck me as a little creepy, called "Dialogues With the Devil" (about the communications between God Almighty and Lucifer). IIRC, the final sentence in that book was "I who am about to fall forever salute you".

Crap, another typo. “Aspasia of Miletus”, not “Mmiletus”. Heh.

Caldwell’s book, Grandmother and the Priests, is a delicious Celtic collection of tales from priests.
