It is not so much a new economic system they seek, but a melding of two OLD economic systems: one about 175 years old and the other a thousand years or more.

Agreed, with the addendum that Marxism in practice is and was feudalism. There’s a few lords at the top, a cadre of their sworn vassals to reap lesser benefits and keep the masses in line, and a vast body of nearly-starving serfs.
From the uniparty’s viewpoint, that’s pretty much what they have now with the occasional hazard that someone could innovate or work their way into health and disrupt the status quo — this is not compatible with the New Feudalism. No Musks! No Trumps! Definitely no Galts!
