The November 1935 hurricane was stronger, 94 mph versus 84 mph gusts and probably stronger gusts that were missed in 1935. Not only did 1935 give us that storm, it gave us the Labor Day hurricane in SW FL, a bit further east than Ian, but much stronger than Ian.
