Perhaps I am too kind so I will state it more harshly.
Our animosity should never be for the dog who is bred to fight. Yes, we dispose of them and do so with pity, but our anger is reserved for those who beat the dog and made it that way.
It is a fine point and a debate for the ages. Yes, a human is far more capable of “reason” than an animal, but the world is not that black and white - it is many shades of grey. The animal was not born to be vicious although it has that capability - it was “trained” to be vicious.
Brittney was not born to hate our nation. People taught her to hate our nation and she was raised and operated in a world where there were few consequences for bad behavior.
A twofer of stupidity and now she is paying the price.
Be that as it may - the dog still needs to be put down.
