It might be a rough night in Daytona. They are evacuating high rises because the buildings are unsafe. These are old condo buildings that were hammered by Ian a few short weeks ago. Many of their seawalls we breached during Ian causing damage.

an interesting thing ... I didn’t ever post on here because it was weird ... but after the hurricane came through there began a series of earthquake swarms around Puerto Rico including one strong 6+M as I recall. Meanwhile there were people reporting earthquakes in Florida, none that the USGS ever publicly confirmed but there were a number of such reports and they were covered elsewhere. In any event ... some of these condos were exactly in one of the locations where these mystery quakes were reported to have been originating. Then a few days after was when these condo evacuations began and continued since though I’ve not seen further eq reports since then. More things that make you go hmmmm.

This?

November brings Nicole and mid-term elections. Nicole has developed with subtropical characteristics in the Atlantic Ocean, taking aim for storm weary Florida.

A subtropical system has some central convection fairly near the center surrounding a warming core existing in the mid-levels of the troposphere. Nicole may further develop into a tropical storm.
