There IS much to criticize about Henry V. But strictly from a literary perspective, how could this work? How can a “We Proud Few” speech work, uttered by a villain?
Good point. These people are so uncreative they have to trash an existing piece of art for their own purpose. If you want to produce a critique of Henry V, then write your own play. There was a movie about Henry V called “The King”. The movie was based on history and Shakespeare, but I never heard it claimed to be a production of the Bard.
