It's all about who you trust more to count your vote accurately and fairly, the people in you local voting precinct, or the machines and central authority running the election. To quote Stalin:

If you skip over Lauren Boebert at the top of the ballot, and then write in Lauren Boebert, that will not be counted as a vote for Lauren Boebert.
