Locally, some years back, a candidate for sheriff ran a write-in campaign. He was the only challenger. The result? The incumbent won with 100% of the vote. All write in ballots were thrown out. Do not think this can not happen!

You forgot that Lisa Murkowski won reelection in 2010 as a write-in candidate after losing the Republican nomination in Alaska for reelection. It's much easier to got to court to get write in ballots counted than to question the decree of Dominion. It creates a paper trail.
