I do not trust or like Kevin McCarthy either. The Republican margin is so slim, however, that I fear they might grab defeat from the jaws of victory and the House ends up with a Dem for Speaker. As of today, only four Republicans dying or being impeached or having their election overturned, etc with their seats going to a Dem would yield a Democrat majority.
I remember when Jeffords ”jumped” very early in the Bush2 administration. It made the Senate a tie. The Republicans being so “kind” (This was back before I realized that the stupid party was actually the party of collusion), they shared all committee assignments equally with Democrats. That is not what just happened in the last 2years.
