UK Hikes Windfall Taxes On Oil And Gas To 35%
The UK is raising the windfall tax on the profits of oil and gas operators in the North Sea while also expanding the tax to include low-cost electricity generators in the Autumn Statement of the UK’s budget unveiled by the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, Jeremy Hunt, on Thursday.
The hike in the levy lifts total oil and gas taxation in the UK to a grand total of 75%, Bloomberg’s energy and commodities columnist Javier Blas noted.
Oil and gas firms and power producers have warned the government for weeks that what was then rumored hikes in windfall taxes would undermine investment in the UK energy system.
“Imposing sudden extra taxes will make it even harder for these companies to invest in UK energy production – both the gas and oil we need today, and the wind, hydrogen and other low-carbon energies we need to reach net zero by 2050,” leading industry group Offshore Energies UK said earlier this month.

Billionaire activist George Soros is funding a group urging secretaries of state and other elections officials to ban Trump from running for president in 2024 by enacting the disqualification clause of the 14th Amendment.
The post-Civil War clause bars anyone from running for office who after taking the oath to protect the Constitution “engaged in insurrection” against the United States or gave “aid or comfort” to the nation’s enemies.
This was their plan. Why do this if they are so confident he will not win, or is this why they are so confident? Seems like perfect timing having Pence out talking about J6 right now.
I don’t know what to think of Trump’s 2024 run. Will the country, the whole world, make it that long without being taken over by the NWO?
My question is, how does he expect to be elected? Elections have to be cleaned up by the states.....how is that going to happen? If it doesn’t, then there is absolutely nothing that says the fraud that has worked so well won’t take care of everything in 2024 as well. I really don’t understand the thinking here.
Frankly, I’m under the opinion that there was more of a red wave than we think. I refuse to believe that this many Americans actually voted to keep dems in power, given the obviously criminal and incompetent Biden regime, the state of the country, and the economy. I think those machines are all rigged to count 1.25 dem votes for every dem ballot, or some such thing. Without fraud, I think that red wave would have materialized.
Unless there is actually something else going on behind the scenes, I just don’t see these evil globalists allowing President Trump back in the White House, come hell or high water.
The only possible strategy I thought of was that the House holds the purse strings, and is it possible to close the spigot to each state until they clean up their elections.
I just can’t get excited again. Bannon had me believing that everything was going to be changed and the dems would be eliminated as a political party. I fell for that football again. You can only do that so many times.

Shame on DeSantis if he goes along with this. Gabbard is doing what I would expect. I never trusted her and am not falling for her recent red pilled bullshit. She’s been recruited by the swamp and trying to appeal to the base....it’s so obvious.

Gabbard is just a dem that couldn’t handle the far left crazies that have taken over. She hasn’t transformed into a conservative. But I’m not going to cut her down for what I imagine other democrats are going through. She has always been against needless wars, like many democrats from back in the day were, and as President Trump is, which may have woke her up.
I’m not hitching on the hate DeSantis train. He’s a great conservative governor. If he does something to change my mind, then I’ll reconsider.

I think DeSantis has been an outstanding Governor and conservative. I was, and perhaps still am, a huge fan. Loved it when he sent those illegals to the Vineyard.
He may be doing something to change my mind right now. IF he runs against Trump, it would be the weasel move of the century, regardless of how conservative he is. I suspect he is considering it, which is despicable. He uses President Trump to get elected, then pulls a stunt like this? Sorry, that is NOT a good person in my books. It’s a political opportunist who doesn’t give a rat’s behind about throwing the MAGA base into chaos.
I hope he’s not considering it, but the fact that he doesn’t emphatically deny it in order to put the whole thing to rest is unsettling. I suspect Laura Loomer is calling it right.
