1) Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) today announced that the Democrat’s caucus leadership elections will be December 8.
He will nominate Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) to be President Pro-Tempore.
2) Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) is in line to be President Pro Tempore, the most senior member of the majority party.
But Feinstein put out a statement earlier in the fall that she would not serve in that capacity. Feinstein is 89.
3) Murray was first elected to the Senate in 1992.
Current President Pro Tempore Sen. Pat Leahy (D-VT) is retiring.
The President Pro Tempore is third in line to the Presidency after the Vice President and the Speaker.

FWIW, a better plan for a GOP establishment that loathes Trump and seeks his elimination would have been to move forward and replace McConnell with someone who doesn’t so obviously loathe GOP voters, rather than run their already-tired “conservative” media operation.
