Putin is a Communist. But Russia is also strong and will outlast this thing, which the Ukraune cheerleaders won’t admit. Ukraine only wins if there is vigorous and direct Western military intervention.
Now is the time to offer negotiations while Ukraine has an advantage. They do not have the military strength to drive the Russians out of all their territory. Unless we intervene Ukraine will never get the Crimea back.
Putin is a Russian Supremacist, Communism has nothing to do with it.

It is a drama that is unfolding that Biden orchestrated and it’s putting a bunch of innocent people in the crosshairs so I’m anti Biden at the same time as being anti Ukraine government and anti-russian government. But I feel sorry for both Russian and Ukrainian people that are in the middle of this all. Russia got baited, But ultimately they’re the ones that are aggressing in bombing all these innocent civilians with the justification that these civilians are all Nazis. Which sounds an awful lot like the rhetoric that is being used by the German government against what they refer to as the right wing which includes any traditional Christian, and it’s what the left dude is doing to everyone in the United States that is not following their beliefs in general will democracy over real representative democracy.
There’s a few here that can not discuss the subject with resorting to potty mouth personal attacks. A couple of the are no longer with us.
Someone once asked: before Hitler, what was the historic figure that people defaulted to as the standard for evil? So he researched it and it turns out that for most of western history the figure that was often invoked as the epitome of an evil person was the Pharaoh from the Exodus story.
Maybe because OK has been around for a while, he/she feels they've outgrown FR. Or we've gotten less mature. Or something like that.
And while I'm a relative noob, who lurked, I can see that of course the character of FR has changed. The same is true of the nation, music, art, and society.
That doesn't change one, basic truth: FR is THE best place to obtain info, and observe demolition derby-like debate that a.lows for the refinement of the free exchange of ideas. True, it has a collection of good and bad people, as you state. Some posts are cringe-inducing, and some posters I'd never invite to my barbecue.
The same is true in society, play, business, family, pretty much everywhere.
Sidestepping the dopier posts and posters is not impossible. It may be harder than it was in 2002, but remember that diamonds are forged in heat and pressure.

As for Russia - everyone knows how they are and you deal with them with one eye open at all times. But at least you could deal and they offered the world something everybody's now suffering for everywhere.....
So yes i have an opinion on this conflict - it could of and had been avoided when better minds were at the head of governments. today - not ven close obviously.
