Tigers and Flies
Shifting Tides in the Chinese Kingdom

Burning Bright

...
“While I am far from the first writer to propose the possibility that President-in-waiting Donald Trump is working with a Sovereign Alliance that includes but is not limited to Russia and China—at least, sovereign elements within Russia and China—today I would seek to provide some interesting trend lines and data points that could lead you to ask questions not just of the leaders they have propped up before you to sell you an American Doom in the place of an American Dream, but of the enemies they would threaten you with who could be little more than shadows on the wall … and perhaps much more.”
...

“The question is, if these optics are putting both bought and paid Marxist media rags and right-wing doomers on heart monitors, does it hint that there is another angle to take with regards to the Chinese theater, and the Chinese leadership?

Is there more we can glean from looking not just to Xi Jinping’s past, from his rise to power to his seeming war with legacy elements within the Chinese Communist party and even allusions to Presidents Trump in the U.S. and Putin in Russia, and from his present, from his shoring up of the emergent and growing BRICS alliance to his posture toward western globalists?

After all, the very title of this piece, ‘Tigers and Flies,’ is a reference to the name given to the ‘anti-corruption’ campaign that Xi has reportedly been waging from within his own borders since he took office.

But then, I suppose we’ll leave all that to next week. In the meantime, I’ll leave you with this broad, not overly bold observation:

Times, they are a-changin.

I’m just not entirely sure they’re changin’ for the worse.

Until next time, stay Positive, stay Based and most importantly … stay Bright.”

The Face of Shamelessness: American businessmen criticized for travel to Havana looking for business deals with the Cuban dictatorship

https://adncuba.com/politica/comienza-conferencia-de-negocios-del-regimen-cubano-con-ee-uu

Translated excerpt with translator comments:

Once again we see how the Castro dictatorship could not have ever survived for more than six decades without the implicit help of foreigners. While Cubans are suffering through blackouts, food and medicine shortages, and historic oppression, American businessmen are in Havana looking for business deals with the communist dictatorship.

The faces of shamelessness’: U.S. businessmen criticized for meeting with the Cuban regime

Cuban activists criticized a “business conference” between the dictatorship and U.S. businessmen that began on Wednesday at the Hotel Nacional in Havana.

“A business conference between Cuba and the U.S. kicks off in Havana,” wrote the official account of the Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Ministry (MINCEX) on Twitter.

The conference, which will run through October 28, was organized by Focus Cuba, a U.S. entity that provides consulting and travel to the island in conjunction with the government-controlled Cuban Chamber of Commerce. According to the invitation, among the speakers scheduled to appear is Minister Gil, who will speak about “the different types of private businesses and their growth” on the island.

Behind Focus Cuba’s business consulting service is Philip Peters, president of the Cuba Research Center and an “advisor” for members of Congress and the Senate who have traveled to Cuba. Also involved is Paul Johnson, president of the U.S. Agriculture Coalition for Cuba.

Cuban activist Magdiel Jorge Castro shared images of some of the businessmen who are at the conference, among them Cuban American Hugo Cancio.

“The faces of shamelessness and complicity with Cuba’s state terrorism and its human rights violations,” said entrepreneur Saily Gonzalez Velazquez, commenting on the businessmen who appear in the photo.

Globalist businessmen looking to line their and the Senate’s pockets at the expense of the Cuban citizen. Normal business in a dictatorship. Trump’s rally in Miami will be one to watch to see what he says about Cuba.
