Again, you are apparently incapable of critical thinking. Only of spewing mismatched stats and being unwilling and unable to see the distinctions that would keep you from false comparisons.
I don’t know what that grad degree of yours is in, but I hope it doesn’t involve logic.
Again, you are incapable of admitting basic facts that are not in dispute by anybody because they run contrary to what you want to think. The comparisons are dead on accurate as has been shown to you. You just refuse to admit any of them.
Both of my grad degrees involve being able to look at basic facts and draw comparisons. Clearly you would not have been suited to either field.
I wasn’t the one moping for being unemployable through the Obama admin, bud.
Been working since I was a pre-teen - starting at my grandfather’s gas station, then summer jobs, then restaurants, bars, hotels. Dropped out of college to work in a factory. Factory closed, did odd jobs for a while. Went back to night school and got my BS, then grad school (paid for by the corporation where I had gotten a job clerking in the data center), all the while working weekends at restaurants.
Never saw an episode of Cheers, SNL, Seinfeld, Friends, MASH, etc. because I was always either in night school or moonlighting. Didn’t move too far up the corporate ladder, but did ok.
Bought a fixer-upper - a lot of sweat equity.
I could go on.
Not rich by any means, but of course now everything’s supposed to be my fault.
I say that as a Gen X-er.
Did you enter the work force just to see your FICA go from "never more then 3%" to 12.4%
The Boomers did.
I wasn’t “unemployable” during the Obama administration, bud.
That was the point but as usual, you missed it.
Nobody is saying every single thing was easy for the Boomers - just that economic conditions were better for them than they’ve been for Gen X and especially than for Millenials. Its true. The conditions were better then. That’s not their fault and its not a reason to blame them as the article did.
They voted for it..
“Nobody is saying every single thing was easy for the Boomers - just that economic conditions were better for them ... That’s not their fault and its not a reason to blame them as the article did.”
Economic conditions were better for Boomers because they had a better work ethic. They were more ethical overall. They created their own good luck. “Blame” isn’t the right word. They get CREDIT for making good economic conditions; they were raised right.
I actually don’t disagree with you that the work ethic of Americans in general was better 50 years ago than it is now.
That said, I do disagree that they made all their own luck. They got some very favorable conditions presented to them that they didn’t make.
