Most of us understand. It makes our angst worse knowing that the pets DON’T understand. Our kitty had an iodine treatment for thyroid a few months ago which required her to be isolated at the hospital for four days. Alone. In a glass “cage” (She was radioactive.) They sent pics, and she looked confused. “WHY?”
It was harder on us than on her, I figure.

I left a tshirt at the hospital to be with her in the kennel that my husband wore yesterday so she could “smell” him still. Hope to bring her some comfort overnight. She hasn’t been away from us at night since we adopted her. Started leaving tshirts decades ago at the request of a vet specialist at Tufts when one of our dogs back then had to stay overnight for tests.
