Not the correct measurement.
The daily death count in Singapore has elevated in the past few weeks, along with cases. The correct measurement is increase in deaths. Not majority of cases. If X people/day were dying before the variant arrived, and then X +Y% die after the variant arrives, the variant is more deadly.
The young don’t die. The old do. You get tiny death numbers by including in those numbers people who were not going to die regardless.
It’s like computing a society pregnancy rate and including males in the statistics.
